Larry Wright

Mr. Larry D. Wright, age 57, of Christopher, IL, died Friday, April 29, 2011, at Franklin County Hospital in Benton, IL. Mr. Wright was born September 2, 1953 in Christopher to Roy (Buster) Wright and Bettilu (Rodenbush) Wright. He is survived by his wife; Marilyn (Straub) Wright of Christopher, 3 children; Christi and husband Dennis Tarr of Mulkeytown, Maria and husband Toney Phelps of Valier and Larry Jr. Wright and fiancéeée Rachel Newberry of West Frankfort, 2 sisters; Elaine and husband Randy Dees of Waltonville, Diane and husband Dennis Tomei of Christopher, 2 brothers; Roy and wife Maxine Wright of Sesser and David Wright of Sesser. Mr. Wright is also survived by 8 grandchildren; Deni Little, Lauren Little, Ally Little, Kennedy Tarr, Morgan Tarr, Mike Phelps, Morgan Phelps, Logan Wright and 1 great gr. child Kahli Sanders. Larry had 1 special aunt Joyce Wright. He was also survived by his mother-in-law, 4 sister-in-laws and 1 brother-in-law. Mr. Wright loved to fish and hunt and was an avid tournament fisherman. He was a coal miner and worked at Old Ben 25 for several years. Mr. Wright proudly served in the Army. Mr. Wright was preceded in death by his parents and uncle Curtis Wright. Arrangements are being handled by Van Natta Funeral Home , Rt. 148 between Christopher and Sesser, Christopher, IL where the family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Tuesday, May 3, 2011. Funeral service will be at Van Natta Funeral Home at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, May 3, 2011, Rev. Ken Petty officiating. Memorials can be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois Inc., envelopes will be provided by the funeral home. Military rites will be at the funeral home by the VFW and the American Legion.
