Ruby Martin

Mrs. Ruby Jane Martin, age 69, of Herrin, IL, died Sunday, December 23, 2012, at Barnes=Jewish Hospital in Saint Louis, MO. She was born in Carbondale on January 4, 1943 to Adam and Dorothy Harmond Brookhouse. Mrs.Martin was employed by Herrin Hospital as an LPN for 25 years and was a member of Christian Covenant in Carterville Ill. She is survived by her husband; Robert Martin, siblings John and wife Deloris Brookhouse of Carterville, Billie Rae and husband Richard Earl of Herrin, Frank and girlfriend Sharon Brookhouse Carterville and Sam and wife Kathy Brookhouse of Marion. She also has several nieces and nephews and her special friend her dog Penny. She enjoyed painting and crocheting. She was preceded in death by her parents. Arrangements are being handled by Van Natta Funeral Home, 427 South Park, Herrin, IL where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, December 27, 2012. Funeral service will be at Van Natta Funeral Home at 11:30 AM, Friday, December 28, 2012, Rev. Ralph Brandon officiating. Interment will be at Mount Pisgah Cemetery, Wetaug, IL
