Myrteen Collard

Mrs. Myrteen Collard, age 85, of Herrin, IL, died Thursday, May 8, 2008, at Heartland Regional Hospital in Marion, IL. She was married to Ora Collard Jr. he died in 1981. She was born in Herrin Sept. 13, 1922 to Charles M. and Eva McGee Capps. Mrs.Collard was a retired School Teacher. She taught at Energy grade school. She had a masters degree from SIU in Teaching and was a member of 1st Baptist Church and was a member of the Jean Sheppard Circle. She taught Sunday School for the 4 year old childern at the church for several years. She is suvived by one Daughter: Mrs. Sue and Mike Smothers, Marion, IL one Son: Mr. Gary and Katherine Collard, Anderson, IN. 2 gr ch.; Amanda and Lance Roye Marion Ill, Dawn and Scott Davis Peru In. 2 step gr ch.; Stacey Smothers Herrin, John Smothers Marion. 5 gr gr ch; Dyson Roye, Malia Roye, Asley Sparkman, Amber Sparkman, Mathew Collard. also 2 great gr gr ch. Devin Barnes, Brayden Webb. She was preceded in death by her parent, husband and 3 brothers, Cloyd, George and Omer Capps Arrangements are being handled by Van Natta Funeral Home, 427 South Park, Herrin, IL Funeral service will be at Van Natta Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Monday May 12, 2008.
