Charles Owens

Mr. Charles "Chuck" Owens, age 72, of Herrin, IL,went to be with the lord 2:50 pm Saturday, August 2, 2008, at his home in Herrin, IL. Mr.Owens was retired from Reliable Ins. Company. He was an Insurance Sales Man. He was born April 12, 1936 in Marion to John Owens and Christine (Bartley) Van Horn. He is survived by his wife; Myrna L. (Tennant) Owens. They were married May 26, 1962. He is survived by six childern, Marianne and Randy Hoyle of Peoria, IL. , Rick and Dixie Owens Prescott Valley Az. , Karen and Ken Yordy of West Frankfort, IL, Chuck Owens and Terri McLaughlin of Herrin IL, Lisa Beltz and Wade Nelson of Makanda, IL Lela and Tom Burton of Herrin, IL 17 Grandchildren, several great Grandchildren, and several neices and nephews. 1 brother Glenn Owens of West Frankfort, IL, 1 sister Margie and husband William Hughey of Lake of Egypt, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents , Stepfather Delbert Van Horn, 1 grandchild Skyla M. Beltz. He was a very loving Husband, father and grandfather and a very hard working man to provide for his family and will be missed very much. Memorials can be made to Hospice of Southern IL Inc. Envelopes will be provided by the funeral home. Services will be Wednesday August 6, 2008 at 1:00 pm Rev. Roger Teal will officiate. Visitation will be from 11:00 am Wednesday untill time of the funeral at Van Natta Funeral Home, 427 South Park, Herrin, IL. Burial will be in the Herrin City Cemetery.
