Edward Wallace, 85 of Herrin, Illinois died on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at his home in Herrin Born Thursday, October 31, 1929 in Johnston City, Illinois, he was the son of the late John Wallace and the late Marie Hayes Wallace. He was the husband of Lorene (Beers) Wallace she survives they were married Jan 1, 1949. Also surviving are 2 sons; Michael and wife Charlene of Lake Wales Florida and Charles and wife Brenda Wallace of Herrin,sister-in-law Nancy and 7 grand children, Kirk, Kristy, Tammy, Shannon, Kathy, Bradley, Austin and Suzan. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother Jack and 1 grand daughter Tonya. He was a member of Seventh Day Adventist Church in Herrin, served in the Army during the Korean conflict, Ham radio operator- W90RI, member of the Johnston City Masonic lodge and Shiners in Marion. Mr. Wallace was employed by the Telephone Company and was also a Metropolitan Agent for 11 years Service will be at 1:00 PM on Monday at Van Natta Funeral Home located at 427 South Park Avenue Herrin, Illinois 62948 with the Rev. Kenny Shelton officiating. Interment will be in Lake View Cemetery, Johnston City, IL with military rites preformed by the American Legion and V.F.W. post in Herrin.. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Monday, June 1, 2015, at Van Natta Funeral Home, 427 South Park Avenue , Herrin, Illinois.
