Judith Hellberg

Judith Hellberg, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, peacefully departed this life on February 26, 2025, in Marion at the age of 85. Born to Ivan (Pete) and Lillian (Bill) Sweet Hock, who preceded her in death, Judith leaves a legacy of love and cherished memories.

She is survived by her son, Mark Emery, and his wife, Sara, of Herrin; her daughters, Traci and husband Robert Sneed of Energy, and Karen and husband Steve Sanders of Zeigler. Judith also proudly leaves behind eight grandchildren: Adam Emery, Amy Emery, Bobby Sneed of Herrin, Tiffany and her husband Jason Call of Benton, Ashley and husband Michael of Herrin, Kristin Sneed of Orlando, and Cole and wife Blaina Sanders of Zeigler and Paige Towel of DuQouin.. In addition, she has been blessed with 11 great-grandchildren and is lovingly remembered by her sister, Elaine Etherton of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Judith was also preceded in death by her brother, Lowell Hock.

A devoted member of the Lone Oak Baptist Church, Judith was surrounded by a circle of wonderful friends and a caring church family. Her passions in life included a deep love for horses and an unwavering loyalty to the St. Louis Cardinals.

In accordance with her wishes, there will be no services, and she will be cremated. The family appreciates the support during this time and feels grateful for all the lives Judith touched.

Van Natta Funeral Home will be handling arrangements. Judith’s spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved her dearly, and she will be missed more than words can say.
