Marty King

Marty King peacefully departed this world to be with his lord on January 5, 2025, at Herrin Hospital, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. Born on November 8, 1959, in Herrin to Odell and Linda (Howell) King, Marty was a devoted father to his three beloved sons: Ryan of Royalton, Kyle, and his wife Lindsey King of Herrin, and Trace King of Benton.

He is also lovingly remembered by his sister Vickie and her husband Marty Smith of Herrin, as well as his aunt Doris Stewart of Royalton and uncles Ronnie Howell of Hurst and Jerry Howell of Royalton. Marty's family was completed with the joy of three grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews, who brought laughter and light into his life.

Marty's warm spirit touched many; his faith was rooted in the Nazarene Church in Royalton. He made significant contributions as an X-ray Technician at Franklin County Hospital, where he utilized his skills to provide care and support to others.

Preceded in death by his cherished uncle Ronnie Howell and his parents, along with his nephew Michael Todd Brower, Marty leaves behind a tapestry of memories woven with love and gratitude.

In alignment with his wishes, Marty will be cremated, and there will be no services at this time. Van Natta Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements. As we remember Marty, let us celebrate a life well-lived, filled with kindness, compassion, and the love he shared with family and friends.
