Roberta “Bobby” Triplett, a cherished soul, departed this life on the evening of March 7, 2025, at the Carbondale Memorial Hospital, leaving a legacy that will forever resonate in the hearts of those she loved. Born in the welcoming town of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, she was the beloved daughter of Lot and Pauline (McGinnis) Browder.
Bobby's life blossomed through her unwavering devotion to family. She is survived by her two loving sons, Allen, alongside his wife JoAnne Schmitt of Herrin, and Robert, with his wife Tasha Schmitt of Marion. Her family tree flourished under her nurturing spirit, including two adoring sisters, Donna and her husband Marc Slafter of Ina, and Marci Wolf of Salem, as well as a supportive brother, Norman, and his wife Christine Browder of Batavia, Illinois. The joy Bobby brought to her family is mirrored in the laughter of her twelve grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, alongside numerous cherished nieces and nephews.
A dedicated nurse, Roberta spent many years caring for her community at the Herrin Hospital and Helia Health Care, embodying compassion and kindness in every stitch of care she provided. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her vocation into the lives of everyone she encountered.
Bobby now joins her beloved parents and her devoted husband, Dennis Triplett, in eternal rest, leaving behind a tapestry of love woven through the lives she touched.
A beautiful celebration of her life will take place on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at 1:00 PM, with visitation beginning earlier that same day at 11:00 AM. Rev. Don Colson will lead the service, honoring her remarkable journey and celebrating the indelible impact she made. She will find her final resting place in the Herrin City Cemetery—a serene home where her spirit will continue to radiate love.
