Tamara Hovenga

Mrs. Tamara Hovenga, 61 died on Sunday, March 31, 2019, at Mt. Vernon Health Care Center in Mount Vernon, Illinois. She has now found peace after suffering from Dementia. She worked for Williamson County in the Education Department and also taught at Herrin High School. She was a member of the Hurst Christian Church. She was born Thursday, November 7, 1957 in Herrin, Illinois to Richard and Deloris Cornell. She was the wife of Stanley Hovenga he survives of Carterville. They were married November 28,1975 and they have 3 sons, Aaron and Janice Hovenga of Johnston City, Adam and Emily Hovenga of Colp and Andrew and Teresa Hovenga of New Baden. She has 5, grandchildren, Abby, Wyatt, Charlie, Braxton and Eden. A Funeral service will be at 1:00 AM on Friday at Van Natta Funeral Home located at 427 South Park Avenue Herrin, Illinois 62948 with the Rev. Greg Parker officiating. Interment will be in Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, IL. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Friday, April 5, 2019, at Van Natta Funeral Home, 427 South Park Avenue , Herrin, Illinois.
