Norman Burley, 81 of Herrin, died Friday, Jan. 15, 2021. Born Friday, Sept. 1, 1939, in Michigan to Charles and Mable (Dockem) Burley, he is survived by a daughter, Dixie Sharp of Edwardsville, granddaughter Rhiannon and husband Nicholas Harvey of Godfrey, Ill., and great-granddaughter Olivia Harvey. He also has three sisters, Pearl Armstrong, Donna Carlyle and Doris Rude, and one brother, Lloyd, all of Michigan. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Rosemary Burley. Norman was an airline pilot for Pan Am and Delta. He retired in 1994 and then worked as a real estate agent for Coldwell Bankers, and then opened Dream Flight Powered Parachutes. A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 21, 2021, at Van Natta Funeral Home, 427 S. Park Ave., in Herrin. Interment will be in Herrin City Cemetery.
